Welcome to Johnston Middle School!

JMS proudly serves more than 1,200 eighth and ninth grade students enrolled in our school.

JMS was built in 1985 and is the only 8-9 grade school in the district. We are proud of our students in all aspects of their education. Our students not only excel in the classroom but they also exceed expectations in our extra and co-curricular programs. This past year we were named a Capturing Kids’ Hearts Showcase School, as well as an Apple Distinguished School for our 1:1 iPad program.

Luke Dillon is the principal at Johnston Middle School. He, along with 128 teachers and staff members, are committed to students and work hard to ensure every student makes growth during the school year. The school has two full time guidance counselors, a full time teacher librarian, and a full time nurse.

JMS students have variety in their learning choices and are encouraged to try different related arts and STEM classes. The Extended Learning Program (ELP) serves our students requiring academic enrichment. There are reading support personnel to assist our students with reading/literacy skills, and different special education programs are available for students who present unique learning needs.

We welcome you to visit our school! All visitors to the building will be directed to the front office to gain access to the rest of the school.
