An Exciting Time for AllFRKJohnstonElementary BrookePavelPhoto097

A much-anticipated time for your family is approachingĀ  and the principals and staff at the five Johnston Community School District elementary schools are ready to make this school year a memorable experience for each child.

We are proud to offer two kindergarten options for children.

Our Developmental Kindergarten (DK) program is offered in the morning or afternoon and is designed for students who are of kindergarten age, but may need an extra year of development before they are ready for all-day kindergarten. Skill development will focus on reading/literacy, mathematics, and cognitive/social proficiency. *Child must be age 5 by Sept. 15, 2020 to enroll.

JCSD offers all-day kindergarten at each of our five elementary schools. Students will master reading, writing, math, science, and related arts skills that serve as the foundation of their learning for years to come. Student-focused cognitive and social development is also a part of each day. *Child must be age 5 by Sept. 15, 2020 to enroll.

Where does my child go to school?

Please take a moment to view our boundary maps online at www.johnstoncsd.org/district/maps-boundaries/. If you do not live within the district boundaries, you must apply for open enrollment before September 1 of their kindergarten year.
