Welcome to Timber Ridge Elementary!

Timber Ridge proudly serves 731 preschool through fifth grade students enrolled in our school. We are also home to Johnston’s only Developmental Kindergarten program, which serves five-year-old students in a half-day of school.

Timber Ridge was built in 2007 and was the fifth elementary school in Johnston. It is the newest elementary school in Johnston and offers state-of-the-art learning spaces for students, including computer labs, art studios, music rooms, a full sized gymnasium, a separate lunchroom, and well-equipped classrooms. The building is designed to have natural light in nearly every room, creating an open and bright learning environment.

Raine Mollenbeck is the principal at Timber Ridge. She, along with 57 teachers and staff members, are committed to students and work hard to ensure every student makes growth during the school year. There are 29 preschool through fifth grade homerooms at Timber Ridge. The school has a full time guidance counselor, a full time teacher librarian, and a full time nurse.

Every student at Timber Ridge goes to PE, Art, and Music classes every week. The Extended Learning Program (ELP) serves our students requiring academic enrichment. There are reading support personnel to assist our students with reading/literacy skills, and four different special education programs are available for students who present unique learning needs.

We welcome you to visit our school! All visitors to the building will be directed to the front office to gain access to the rest of the school. Please call our office (515-331-4279) to arrange a visit.
