What is Title IX?

On August 14, 2020, new regulations surrounding Law Title IX, 20 § U.S.C. 1681 were implemented after the law underwent revisions that affected educational institutions. Specifically, Title IX:

  • Prohibits discrimination “on the basis of sex”;
  • Education programs and federally funded schools (whether or not sponsored by the educational institution);
  • Protects students, employees, applicants, & all other persons

In accordance, the Johnston Community School District has taken all necessary measures to train and inform Title IX coordinators and disseminate notice of the policy, Title IX obligations, and Title IX coordinator information. Please fill out this form to submit a complaint to the Johnston Community School District about discrimination, harassment or bullying.

    You are required to cooperate fully with any investigation conducted by Johnston Community School District. You may not knowingly file a false complaint. If you knowingly provide untruthful or inaccurate statements, you may subject yourself to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
    Retaliation against any person, because the person has filed a complaint or assisted or participated in an investigation, is prohibited. Persons found to have engaged in retaliation shall be subject to discipline by appropriate measures.
