Welcome to Horizon Elementary School!  Located on the west side of the Johnston Community School District, we serve more than 650 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Since 2001, Horizon has been committed to supporting students and families academically, socially and emotionally.

Staff members model the practice of continuous growth through professional development opportunities to meet the building goal of increasing student achievement by at least one year’s growth. Through the integration of technology, use of engaging instructional strategies, and increased higher order questioning, students will meet and exceed expectations.
