Swing by Johnston Public Library on the last day of school *tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 30* & pick up your Summer Reading materials for kids, teens, and adults between 2pm & 5:30pm. Library staff will be outside the JPL parking lot with to-go bags of summer reading materials for all ages.

Sylvan Learning Centers of Iowa are running plenty of Spring Camps for Johnston students to take advantage of-- from STEM, to reading and math, and even College Prep! Dates and times are listed on respective websites. Prices may vary. Enroll today!

Whether you're brand new to crochet or already working on a project, this is your space to learn, create, and connect. We'll cover the basics—including how to make a classic granny square—and offer help with whatever you're stitching. Registration required at johnstonlibrary.com/events.

The annual Drake University Voice Intensive (DUVI) is a summertime camp designed for young singers ages 14+ to develop their voices and build confidence in performing and auditioning.

We will be making a science splash with a bunch of wet and wild water experiments! This program will be partially outside on the patio. Be sure to dress appropriately. No registration is required. Grades K-5. Children ages 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult for this program.

In June 2025, students will have the opportunity to travel to Europe, including England, Switzerland, France, and Germany. We will be traveling with EF Educational Tours. For more information, please RSVP to our informational meeting on Oct. 26, 2023.

Participants will engage in a variety of activities, lessons and conversations throughout the day surrounding important topics with take-aways that they can apply to their lives now; topics include leadership skills, financial literacy, career-readiness skills, goal-setting and communication.

Arrow Academy of Music's School Year session begins the week of August 17th! We offer accredited in-person and online piano lessons for ages 6-17, and guitar lessons for ages 10-17 all from our studio in Urbandale. Attend a free trial lesson to get started!

I am a former teacher who now works with elementary age children and their families. I help children learn to love learning in ways they learn best. I also guide parents to have meaningful relationships with the children in joyful homes. Coaching is individual to meet each person's needs.
