Large Group Speech State Results

The Johnston High School Large Group Speech Team competed at the state meet on Saturday, February 4, held at Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa. The Large Group Speech team is coached by Tyler Stough and Jeremy Fitzpatrick. Scores range from a #1 (Excellent) to a #3 (Fair).

The four competing groups had an excellent showing and put forth a lot of time and effort throughout the season leading up to their performances at state. Congratulations!

• Musical Theatre: Rent. Performers were Nicolas Ronkar, Elizabeth Boeschen, Justin Hu, and Megan Gilbreath

• Ensemble Acting: To Burn a Witch. Performers were Sierra Wicks, Megan Gilbreath, Asiya Mohammed, and Brooke Willis.
  • RESULT: Three #1 ratings

• Ensemble Acting: Check Please. Performers were Madison Clabaugh and Cameron Mitchell
  • RESULT: Two #1 ratings and one #2 rating; overall score was #1.

• Short Film: I remember you. Performers were Will Linder, Elizabeth Boeschen, Ben Lunn, Riley Love, Joe Kronberg
