A Job Well Done

Congratulations to the following activity/athletic groups and individuals who took home awards over the weekend. These students and their coaches are fantastic representatives of our district! The Johnston JV Dance Team competed at MA Dance Competition this past weekend. The girls brought home high point for their lyrical, Pom and hip-hop performances as well as technique and best in class for all 3 dances! The team was also commended for their outstanding sportsmanship among other teams throughout the competition.

The Johnston Dragon Swim Team is the CIML Conference Champ! First place finishes went to Jaxon Kaster – 100 Fly & 500 free; Scott Lair – 200 IM; Grant Lair – 100 back; 200 Medley Relay (Lair, Lair, Kaster, Dieleman) and 400 Free Relay (Lair, Lair, Warrick, Dieleman). Congratulations!

Congrats to JHS senior wrestler Zach Price for capturing the 132lbs title at the Ed Winger Classic and notching his 165 career victory. Zach is now JHS Wrestling all-time career victory leader.

One of the Johnston High School speech groups participating in the IHSSA contest received a ranking of a 1 and will be heading to state large group in Waukee IA on February 3rd 2018. Congratulations to the One Act Group,” Goodbye Marianne.” Cast: Ashley Marsh, Sophia Longo, Jenna Olson, Megan Jones, Trinity Olson, Isabella Root, and Mikayla Dobson.
