JHS Students Rack Up National Quill and Scroll Awards

Quill and Scroll – the renowned international honorary society for high school journalists – annually invites student journalists to submit their best work in a variety of categories. The Johnston High School yearbook staff has earned a number of National Quill and Scroll awards in the 2017 Yearbook contest. Congratulations to the following student journalists and their advisor, Leslie Shipp.

The JHS yearbook also won the 2017 Blue and Gold award in the Class A Comprehensive Visuals category. According to the Quill and Scroll website, “The Blue and Gold Awards note the best high school journalism offers. Winners of this prestigious award have distinguished themselves in visuals and/or writing categories in the regular Yearbook Excellence Contest … schools earned Blue and Gold Awards based on their staffs’ overall performance in the Yearbook Excellence Contest. The Staff Excellence Blue and Gold represents the best overall.”
