Clear bags now required at Dragon Stadium

Clear Bags Now Required at Dragon StadiumJOHNSTON, Ia. (Sept. 9, 2022) — Johnston is implementing a clear-bag policy at Dragon Stadium in an effort to improve safety and make it easier for those checking bags at the gate.

Regular backpacks or other bags will NOT be allowed past stadium gates. The policy will officially be enforced at the homecoming game on Friday, September 23.

In an effort to provide the safest environment for students and spectators at JHS home football games, we are also emphasizing that:

  • Students are expected to sit in assigned student sections (outlined below) or with a parent.
  • Parents and other spectators should sit in the bleacher sections above the student sections to avoid intermingling with students in their cheering sections.
  • Seating at the top of the stadium (adjacent to the Press Box) will be reserved for our patrons who have needs that prohibit them from going up and down the bleachers to access seating.
  • Hanging out in the concourse or grassy areas is not allowed.
  • Alcohol, tobacco, vapes and weapons including guns and knives are strictly prohibited.
  • Johnston Police and other law enforcement will be present at the game to assist with security. Violating our procedures may lead to removal from the game.
