  • SUMMIT THEATER PRODUCTION: Thank you to all the talented and enthusiastic actors and actresses who tried out for our spring play, Trouble in Paradise Junction. You were entertaining and interesting!

We have cast the play and the crew. Please know that there are many of you who had good auditions and are not in the cast simply because we were not able to use all of the 140 students who did such a great job in auditions.

The same is true for crew – we had many helpful and responsible student apply for crew, and we were only able to cast about half of them. We appreciate so much your excitement and willingness to help.

If you are in the cast or crew, Congratulations! We look forward to working with you!

  • SUMMIT SCHOOL CLIMATE COMMITTEE : The Summit School Climate Committee’s next project will be a school-wide tissue and disinfectant wipe drive! With the flu season in full swing, we thought it would be a great opportunity to help provide these items at this critical time. The drive will start on Thursday, January 9th and run until Friday, January 24th. Please bring items to your community bin which will be located near the entrance of each community. Please see a School Climate Committee member with questions.
  • MILITARY CARE PACKAGES : We are organizing care packages for military members at Camp Dodge as part of our ELP project to affect change for the greater good in our community.  We are collecting the following food items in boxes in the Lobby Vestibule in front of the office until Friday January 17, 2020.
  • hard candy
  • gummy candy
  • suckers
  • water flavoring packets (kool aid, coffee, hot chocolate, and lemonade)
  • beef jerky
  • Slim Jim’s
  • protein or snack bars
  • labeled homemade treats
  • microwave popcorn
  • gum

Military personnel also appreciate these additional items:

  • decks of cards
  • card games
  • good quality socks
  • chapstick
  • pens
  • notebooks
  • board games
  • movies
  • puzzle books
  • word cross books.

These packages will be organized and sent out this winter through the USO at Camp Dodge. By just getting one extra item when you’re Christmas shopping, Iowa’s military can have their own treats! You can turn in these items at boxes in the lobby vestibule in front of the school office.
