Trouble in Paradise Junction by Todd Wallinger

See how citizens of a small, delightful community are changed by a reality show coming to town!

There are many roles for those who want speaking lines and those who do not. We’ll need lots of help on crew, costumes, programs, and publicity as well. We look forward to seeing you!

Monday, January 6th at 2:30 p.m. in the Summit Media Center

“If it’s too good to be true – You must be in Paradise Junction!”

With Mr. Motz

When:  Tuesdays and Thursdays (round 1 is 6 weeks)

*****Starts Tuesday, January 7th

Will offer another round in the spring!

Who: Anyone can show up at any time.  I will use partner programming to help catch up beginners and those who want extra support.  The more the merrier!

What: We will be using a program called Unity to create a video game over the course of 6 weeks.  I will allow any students to join at any given time.  Just show up and you can start building a game, keep coming and you might finish a game.

Any parents with programming or gaming experience are welcome to contact me to come assist or volunteer in any capacity.  I may be able to accommodate any students who cannot attend due to schedule conflicts.

Please arrive promptly at 4 to pick up students at 4:00 or have a plan for them to get home.  Thanks!  -Mr. Motz

  • MILITARY CARE PACKAGES: We are organizing care packages for military members at Camp Dodge as part of our ELP project to affect change for the greater good in our community.  We are collecting the following food items in boxes in the Lobby Vestibule in front of the office until Friday January 17, 2020.
  • hard candy
  • gummy candy
  • suckers
  • water flavoring packets (kool aid, coffee, hot chocolate, and lemonade)
  • beef jerky
  • Slim Jim’s
  • protein or snack bars
  • labeled homemade treats
  • microwave popcorn
  • gum

Military personnel also appreciate these additional items:

  • decks of cards
  • card games
  • good quality socks
  • chapstick
  • pens
  • notebooks
  • board games
  • movies

These packages will be organized and sent out this winter through the USO at Camp Dodge.  By just getting one extra when you’re Christmas shopping, Iowa’s military can have their own treats! You can turn in these items at boxes in the lobby vestibule in front of the school office.
