Black History Month – Stop by the library during the month of February to see our Black History Display! There are many great fiction and non-fiction books by Black authors and/or feature Black characters.

Featured Book of the Week
The Port Chicago 50 is a narrative nonfiction book that tells the true story of Port Chicago (a Navy base near San Francisco during World War II). There was a massive explosion there that killed 320 serviceman the majority whom were African American. Fifty of the servicemen that did survive refused to go back to work at the unsafe base doing the same dangerous work that killed their friends. This is their story.
