FROM THE LIBRARY

We have a CHAMPION!!  Summit has voted The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series their favorite in the Book Madness tournament!  Thank you to everyone that participated and voted!  We had 51 students correctly predict Diary of a Wimpy Kid as the winner!  I drew 6 names as Grand Prize Winners : Ben Cheese, Raleigh Smith, Chase Modlin, John Mills, Morgan Severin, and Bawii Bawi!  Those six people should come to the library to select a prize, and if you were one of the 51 kids that guessed correctly, you can stop in for a prize as well!  We also had 3 teachers correctly guess the winner as well – Congrats to Mrs. Petersen, Mrs. Lewis, and Mrs. Pierce!

Featured Book of the Week

Zinnia is a 12 year old girl who is dealing with the fact that her college-age brother has just been diagnosed with a mental illness.  Her parents have asked her to keep this “private.”  Keeping this from her friends and having no one at school to talk to about it is proving difficult for Zinnia.  When she starts attending a Lunch Club that her science teacher has encouraged her to join, she starts thinking differently about mental health issues.  Barbara Dee is one of my favorite authors, and I recommend My Life in the Fish Tank to anyone!
