Fall Athletic Teams Receive Academic Awards from State Associations

The Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union & The Iowa High School Athletic Association recognizes those teams and cheerleading squads which collectively have excelled in the classroom. Each student-athlete on the team will receive a certificate for their personal accomplishment, and the achievement will go on record at the respective associations.

There are two awards which may be earned:

Excellence in Academic Achievement Award
- This award will be given to teams achieving a combined grade point average of 3.0-3.24.
Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
- This award will be given to teams achieving a combined grade point average of 3.25 and above.

Congratulations to:

Varsity Football Cheerleading, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.21 and receiving the Excellence in Academic Achievement Award
Varsity Football, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.02 and receiving the Excellence in Academic Achievement Award

Varsity Boys Cross Country, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.79 and receiving the Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
Varsity Girls Cross Country, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.76 and receiving the Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
Varsity Boys Golf, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.96 and receiving the Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
Varsity Girls Swim, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.75 and receiving the Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
Varsity Girls Volleyball, earning a team cumulative GPA of 3.78 and receiving the Distinguished in Academic Achievement Award
