New Announcements:

JMS Lunch Time Game Group returns TODAY!  For those of you interested in making new connections in the building, please grab your lunch and come join us for game group in the counseling office starting this week on Monday and Thursday.  Choice of game still to be determined, if you have a suggestion please let Mrs. Moomaw or Mrs. Lunn know.

 


Any 9th grader who plans on playing 9th grade baseball this summer….will need to attend the 9th grade baseball sign-up meeting on Monday night November 9th at 6:15 PM.  The sign-up meeting will take place in the middle school weight room.  Please bring a mask and your iPad.  Thank you.  Coach Barta

 


 

JMS Attitude of Gratitude Challenge — We have an opportunity to express our gratitude by giving back to others, and your participation in the Food Drive will bless children in Johnston who do not have enough food to eat.

Here’s how it works:  Each day bring the item of the day to your PRIDE classroom and place in the designated box.  On Thanksgiving Eve all boxes will be delivered to the local Food Bank to bless those in need!  Please see the attachment for the full schedule of daily giving.

HS MockTrial Expectations 2021, NEW HS MT Student Reg 2021


Students- don’t forget to check the JMS site for your Weekly Updates and Assignments in all your classes!  This will help you keep up with your course work in all classes, especially if you are ever absent or quarantined.

Hello 9th Graders! If you have a copy of the book, The Outsiders, from last year that never got returned, would you please return it to the front office? Thanks a bunch from your 8th grade Language Arts teachers!

Johnston High School and Dallas Center Grimes grades 9-12 will be able to attend High School Bowling tryouts at Game Day Lanes (formerly Merle Hay Lanes).  Tryouts are for both boys and girls on Thursday, November 5th and Friday, November 6th from 3:30 – 5:00 pm.  Students must have a completed physical, registration and concussion certificate to participate.

Attention Johnston Women’s Golfers.  Please fill out the following form to communicate your intentions for JHS Spring Women’s Golf 2021 (students must fill out the form).  JHS Spring Women’s Golf is for current 9th-12th graders.  However, if numbers allow, current 7th- 8th graders may be allowed to join the team for practices and to gain experience.  If you have any questions, please reach out to Coach Hattel at chattel@johnston.k12.ia.us.


 

Attention all military families!!  In preparation for our Veteran’s Day celebration this year we would like to celebrate any and all of our families that have dedicated themselves to serving our country or supported a family member who has.  We are looking to put together a slideshow of students and their loved ones who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces.  If you would be willing to be included in our celebration slide show, please email a copy of any photos you’re willing to share to raine.mollenbeck@johnston.k12.ia.us or abbey.moomaw@johnston.k12.ia.us
