Johnston Middle School Announcements for

Tuesday, February 25, B Day

New Announcements:

8th Grade Girls’ Track:  Pre-season meeting on March 3rd AFTER school at 3:00pm in the auditorium OR March 4th BEFORE school at 7:30am in the auditorium. Meeting should last about 15 minutes.  Come to whichever day you are able to. Practice will start March 9th, 10th, and 12th the week before break from 3:15 – 5:00. Please have your physical and concussion form uploaded, track selected on your online registration, and bring tennis shoes the first day.

Dungeons and Dragons club meets every Thursday in the JMS commons from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. All are welcome, from newcomers to advanced players (provided you are in 8th or 9th grade and attend Johnston Middle School). Any questions can be directed to Mr. Hewitt (room 113) chris.hewitt@jdragonmail.us or chris.hewitt@johnston.k12.ia.us. Materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own as well. Join us for adventures and roll some dice!

Repeat Announcements:

Parent/Teacher Conferences Begin THIS Thursday, February 27, 1:30 – 5:00 PM and 5:30 – 8:00 PM and Thursday, March 5, 4:30 – 8:00 PM. Conferences are on a walk-in basis; please bring a copy of your student’s schedule. A map of teacher conference locations will be available during conferences. Please check-in at the table in the commons area when you arrive!

Attention 9th Grade Boys interested in playing soccer:

There will be open gyms every Wednesday for the month of February from 6-7am in the large gym at JMS.  The dates are 2/5, 2/12, 2/19, & 2/26. Please bring indoor shoes and shin guards. If you have questions, please see Coach Skelton in room 105.  We will be scrimmaging the entire time, so come ready to play!
