New Announcements:

Congrats to the Dragon varsity girls basketball team on their Class 5A state championship!  The team defeated Waukee on Friday to win their first ever state title! Special congrats to freshman Emma Hampton and Molly Noelck who helped the Dragons finish up the best season in team history!

Johnston FCA will hold another “Huddle” on Thursday, (3/12) @ the Tanke Residence (9024 NW Windsor Dr. – Johnston).  The gathering will begin at 7:29 pm with guest speaker Brandon McNace.  Everyone in grades 9-12 is welcome to attend!

Repeat Announcements:

8th Grade Boy’s Track: Pre-season meeting on March 12th after school at 3:00 pm in the auditorium. Meeting should last about 20-30 minutes. Practice will start March 23rd, the week after break from 3:15 – 5:00. Please have your physical and concussion form uploaded, track selected on your online registration, and bring tennis shoes the first day. If you are unable to attend or have any other questions reach out to Mr. Hoversten (Room 503) or Mr. Ganske (Room 410).


 

SCHOOL PERMIT MEETING: Attention 9th Grade Students! Our next School Permit Meeting will be Tuesday, March 10 at 3:15 PM in the Cafeteria of Johnston Middle School (enter through front entrance). The ONLY students eligible are 9th grade students who HAVE HAD THEIR LEARNERS’ PERMIT FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS AND HAVE COMPLETED DRIVER’S ED. THE STUDENT AND A PARENT MUST ATTEND THE MEETING! Please bring your completed Driver’s Education Certificate (if you have a paper version – if you do not have a paper version don’t worry about it) and learner’s permit to the meeting. Parking Tags will be available for $20 during the meeting. Students will need a parking tag to park on school grounds during the school year. Please make sure you have your license plate number with you at the time of purchase. If you have NOT completed Driver’s Ed by the meeting date, we will have another meeting next month. Be watching your announcements for the date and time!
