Congratulations to the JHS Women’s Golf Team on qualifying for the 2019 State Golf Tournament.  State will be on May 28 and May 29 at Coldwater Golf Course in Ames, IA. Representing the Dragons will be Taylor Sedivec, Kelsey Rubin, Jaedyn Cale, Grace Chickering, Madison Dunn, and Cara Kempadoo.  This is the second year in a row that the Dragons will be at state and comes off of a season where they were back-to-back Conference Champs and Dual Meet Champs. #rolldrags @JCSD_Golf

Congrats to our Dragons on their State Track Success this past weekend! Some of our very own freshman placed in state! Congrats to Aleah Tenpas and Faith Nead and the Johnston Track Team as a whole! Go Dragons!

SUMMER SCHOOL PERMITS: We will be having a meeting on Thursday, May 30 at 3:15 PM in the Cafeteria to issue school permits to students who meet the following criteria:

·        Student entering 9th Grade for the 2019/2020 School Year (and 9th graders that have met the criteria)

·        Student must have had their Learner’s Permit for at least six months

·        Student has successfully completed Driver’s Education (or will complete during the summer)

THE STUDENT AND A PARENT MUST ATTEND THE MEETING! Please bring your completed Driver’s Education Certificate and student permit to the meeting. Students will need a parking tag to park on school grounds. Parking Passes for the 2019/2020 school year will be available for $20.00 at the meeting. Please make sure you have your license plate number with you at the time of purchase.

Attention Students!

Amanda the Panda is offering a “nature of grief” day camp on June 20th from 8:30 am-4 pm as well as a “fun day” at the Altoona Aquatics Park on June 30th.  Please see the attached flyers for more information!

2019/20 Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors – SAVE THE DATE!

Dragon Day will be Wednesday, August 14th from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., please make plans to attend, this is also picture day.  You will be able to walk your schedule, pay school fees, pick up approved parking tags, get your school ID, and so much more.

Attention 9th grade students!

The accounting office and Mrs. Stromer from JHS will be at the JMS cafeteria on Thursday, May 30th to sell parking tags from 11AM-1:15PM. Mrs. Stromer will also be sending 9th grade students an email tomorrow with other dates she will be selling parking tags for next year.

JMS yearbooks are here!! YBs cost $28 and can be purchased with cash or check in the office or with a credit card on REV TRAK. Books are on sale from now until the reserve supply is gone. Student writers and photographers did outstanding work this year–you won’t want to miss it! Look for sneak previews in the days ahead.
