Attention students!

FREE opportunity for ANY Johnston students to learn and or improve their wrestling skills this summer.  Simply, fill out the attached sheet and bring it with you to the first practice. Summer Training Academy

 

Next month young women have the opportunity to explore careers in construction. The Iowa Department of Education, Des Moines Public Schools, and many other partners will be offering a FREE Construction Camp for Girls between the ages of 14-18 from June 24-28. Camp Flyer 5 29 2019

Volunteers are needed again this summer for Safety Town! Safety Town is a program sponsored by Johnston Community Education that teaches safety awareness to children that will be entering kindergarten next year. If you are interested in volunteering or would like more information about Safety Town, please stop by the front office and pick up a volunteer form!

 Repeat Announcements:

Congratulations to the JHS Women’s Golf Team on qualifying for the 2019 State Golf Tournament.  State will be on May 28 and May 29 at Coldwater Golf Course in Ames, IA. Representing the Dragons will be Taylor Sedivec, Kelsey Rubin, Jaedyn Cale, Grace Chickering, Madison Dunn, and Cara Kempadoo.  This is the second year in a row that the Dragons will be at state and comes off of a season where they were back-to-back Conference Champs and Dual Meet Champs. #rolldrags @JCSD_Golf

Amanda the Panda is offering a “nature of grief” day camp on June 20th from 8:30 am-4 pm as well as a “fun day” at the Altoona Aquatics Park on June 30th.  Please see the attached flyers for more information!

2019/20 Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors – SAVE THE DATE!

Dragon Day will be Wednesday, August 14th from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., please make plans to attend, this is also picture day.  You will be able to walk your schedule, pay school fees, pick up approved parking tags, get your school ID, and so much more.

Come join S4C (Students for Change-JHS) and Sources of Strength (JMS) for their first ever COLOR RUN

All staff and students are welcome to participate.  Running or walking YOU can help to spread hope, help, and strength to every corner of our community.

Attention current 9th grade students!

If you were unable to purchase your parking pass on May 30th at JMS, you are still able to purchase the parking tag at the accounting office at JHS – 8:00-1:00 PM or 2:00-3:00 PM (Door #2) until June 7th. All fees need to be paid current (including 19/20 registration before you can receive your JHS parking pass. Cash or check are accepted methods of payment for parking tags.

Last chance to purchase a yearbook today! YBs cost $28 and can be purchased with cash or check in the office or with a credit card on REV TRAK. Books are on sale from now until the reserve supply is gone. Student writers and photographers did outstanding work this year–you won’t want to miss it!
