Dig Pink/Spike Blue volleyball t-shirt orders are going on this week and they are due September 13th at 3pm.  Return your order to the front office. The Dig Pink Game is Tuesday, October 1st! Some of the 9th/10th/JV JHS Men’s Golf Team competed in a President’s Cup match with DCHS on 9/9 at Blank Golf Course. The Dragons defeated DCHS 4.5-1.5. The Dragons included Jack Fritz, Josh Chapman, Jacob Peterson, Caden Winterboer, Rylie Ellis, Andrew Pender, Kade Gustafson, Emmett Johnson, Gabe Kramer, Carson Heyer, Ben Christy, Eric Borgmeier. @JCSD_Golf


 

Update Announcement:

Auditions for the JHS play are today at the HS.  Students should take the activity bus to the HS. The play is open to any 9-12 grade students. If there are students that are interested that cannot make the auditions today after school, contact Mr. Fitzpatrick directly.  jeremy.fitzpatrick@johnston.k12.ia.us

The JMS Technology Student Association will hold its first introductory meeting on Thursday September 12th after school in the Woodshop.  This meeting will last approximately 30 minutes and we will discuss the upcoming fall leadership conference.  If you are interested in joining the TSA club, please plan on attending the meeting after school to find out more information about the club.  If you have a reason that you cannot attend the meeting but would still like to be considered, please email Mr. Huebbe @ joe.huebbe@jdragonmail.us.

 


 

Join the Johnston Step Club Tuesday, September 10th from 3-4 pm for an informational meeting in Mrs. Sheridan’s Room (RM 111). Anyone is welcome so we hope to see you there!  Please see the attached flyer for details!

2020 Yearbook Kickoff – If you’d like to help with yearbook, please come to our first meeting on Tuesday, September 10, at 2:51 in Ms. Kehrli’s room (516). Homecoming coverage will be our first order of business. All are welcome!


 

For those 9th grade boys interested in playing basketball this year that did not make the basketball meeting, please stop by Mr. Sciurba’s room (Room 512) by Friday, September 13th, for more information. We want to make sure you are on our email list in which we will be sending out important information. Also, if you attended the meeting and are interested, please make sure you fill out the information in the QR code ASAP.


 

 

JMS Best Buddies works for inclusion, advocacy, and empowerment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities around our school using one-to-one friendships. This program is not a mentorship, but is a program creating friendships where both people are equally important and equally benefiting from the relationship. The middle school weight room is open after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3-4 PM. We will be following the off-season workout together. There is no sign-up, just show up and work hard!


 

 

To All Athletes Staying for 9th Grade Athletic Practices,

Any 9th grade football and volleyball player staying after school for practice on Wednesday early out days, must report to the multipurpose room with Mr. Tobey.  This will be a study hall opportunity so please bring your ipad and homework. Athletes will be dismissed to practice at 3:20 pm. Locker rooms will be locked until that time.
