JMS BEST BUDDIES PARENT MEETING
Best Buddies will be having a parent and student information meeting this Wednesday September 18th at 6:30 in the auditorium. Any student who is interested is welcome! We will be signing up for Best Buddies Online, so please bring your iPad! You do have to have a parent or guardian present. Any questions please email brandon.pleasant@johnston.k12.ia.us

Science Olympiad – Have a passion for STEM? Come be a part of a Science Olympiad team. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 24 in room 223 from 3:00 to 4:00. There are some changes this year, with a practice and a regional competition, which means some of you will get three opportunities to use what you study and build. State competition is at UNI on March 7. There is an activities bus that travels from JMS to JHS that you can use to get to practice.
Dig Pink/Spike Blue volleyball t-shirt orders are going on this week and they are due September 13th at 3pm. Return your order to the front office. The Dig Pink Game is Tuesday, October 1st! If you purchased an Activity Pass, but haven’t picked it up yet – stop by the Counseling Office before 2:00 today!
For those 9th grade boys interested in playing basketball this year that did not make the basketball meeting, please stop by Mr. Sciurba’s room (Room 512) by Friday, September 13th, for more information. We want to make sure you are on our email list in which we will be sending out important information. Also, if you attended the meeting and are interested, please make sure you fill out the information in the QR code ASAP.
The middle school weight room is open after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3-4 PM. We will be following the off-season workout together. There is no sign-up, just show up and work hard!
To All Athletes Staying for 9th Grade Athletic Practices,
Any 9th grade football and volleyball player staying after school for practice on Wednesday early out days, must report to the multipurpose room with Mr. Tobey. This will be a study hall opportunity so please bring your ipad and homework. Athletes will be dismissed to practice at 3:20 pm. Locker rooms will be locked until that time.
