DIG PINK/SPIKE BLUE: Now that Homecoming Week is over, it’s time to look ahead.  The week of Oct. 10 we are doing a combined cancer awareness week with volleyball, cheerleading and football.  Our focus will be on stage IV breast cancer through the Side-Out Foundation and colon cancer through the American Cancer Society.  On Tuesday, Oct. 11 we will be hosting SE Polk for our senior night and our annual Dig Pink/Spike Blue match.  On Friday, Oct. 14, the cheerleaders have identified as a pink out night at your senior night football vs. CR Kennedy.  As a way to come together as a community and also raise funds for these causes, we are selling t-shirts to be worn to both the volleyball match on Tuesday and the football game on Friday.  There are 3 choices, so we hope you can find one you can choose.  Here is the link to place an order:

This order will need to be placed by midnight this Thursday, Sept. 29 in order to get the shirts back in time.  As usual, we will be having a host of door prizes for those in attendance at the volleyball match on Tuesday along with a bake sale and silent auction.  In addition, we will be having a silent auction for two parking spaces for students outside door #2 and we will be having a raffle that will conclude after the 3rd quarter of the football game on Friday night.

** 9th grade students who wish to obtain a school driver’s permit can follow the following link:

This link will guide them to a Google Site. Students will need to log in with their jdragonmail credentials in order to watch a video and complete a quiz. The video contains the information that was presented at permit meetings in the past and will now take the place of those meetings. One parent will need to watch the video and note that completion on the quiz. As usual, the only students eligible are 9th graders who have completed driver’s education and have had their learner’s permit for at least six months. After the quiz has been completed, students can pick up their signed Department of Transportation form in the JMS Front Office. Students will need a parking tag to park on school grounds during the school year. Parking tags are available for $20 when students pick up their DOT form. Please make sure you have your license plate number with you at the time of purchase.
