Announcements:
For those 9th grade boys interested in playing basketball this year that did not make the basketball meeting, please stop by Mr. Sciurba’s room (Room 512) by Friday, September 13th, for more information. We want to make sure you are on our email list in which we will be sending out important information. Also, if you attended the meeting and are interested, please make sure you fill out the information in the QR code ASAP.

Any student interested in joining the speech and debate team please fill out the following

All regular PE students will begin dressing out either Sept. 4th or 5th (depending what day you have PE).
Uniform Options: Black or purple shorts/sweatpants. Johnston shirt, white shirt, or Johnston PE shirt. Tennis shoes. If you forget your padlock combination ask Mr. Flack, Mr. Shafer or Ms. Beer before class. All backpacks left in the locker rooms. All personal items locked in your locker.
JMS Best Buddies works for inclusion, advocacy, and empowerment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities around our school using one-to-one friendships. This program is not a mentorship, but is a program creating friendships where both people are equally important and equally benefiting from the relationship. The middle school weight room is open after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3-4 PM. We will be following the off-season workout together. There is no sign-up, just show up and work hard!
To All Athletes Staying for 9th Grade Athletic Practices,
Any 9th grade football and volleyball player staying after school for practice on Wednesday early out days, must report to the multipurpose room with Mr. Tobey. This will be a study hall opportunity so please bring your ipad and homework. Athletes will be dismissed to practice at 3:20 pm. Locker rooms will be locked until that time.

SCHOOL PERMIT MEETING: Attention 9th Grade Students! Our next School Permit Meeting will be Thursday, September 5 at 3:15 PM in the Cafeteria of Johnston Middle School (enter through front entrance). The ONLY students eligible are 9th grade students who HAVE HAD THEIR LEARNERS’ PERMIT FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS AND HAVE COMPLETED DRIVER’S ED. THE STUDENT AND A PARENT MUST ATTEND THE MEETING! Please bring your completed Driver’s Education Certificate (if you have a paper version – if you do not have a paper version don’t worry about it) and learner’s permit to the meeting. Parking Tags will be available for $20 during the meeting. Students will need a parking tag to park on school grounds during the school year. Please make sure you have your license plate number with you at the time of purchase. If you have NOT completed Driver’s Ed by the meeting date, we will have another meeting next month. Be watching your announcements for the date and time!
