Lawson Temporary Relocation Sept. 13

Overnight (Thursday into Friday), the gym floor was refinished. The fumes from the refinishing process were strong within the building and out of an abundance of caution, students were relocated to different buildings in the district today.

The following buildings will be utilized for Friday, Sept. 13:

• Morning developmental kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First Grade: Wallace Elementary (6207 NW 62^nd Ave)
• Grades 2-3: Johnston Middle School (6501 NW 62^nd Ave)
• Grades 4-5: Johnston High School (6500 NW 100^th Ave)
• Severe and Profound students: Beaver Creek Elementary (8701 Lyndhurst Dr.)

Afternoon developmental kindergarten is cancelled today.

Buses will transport students from Lawson to their daytime destination and back again this afternoon. Teachers and associates will accompany the children throughout the day. We are making every effort possible to ensure Lawson students have a safe and productive day in a good learning environment. We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation during this matter.

Ultimately, if a parent wishes to keep their child home today, that is up to them; we simply ask that you phone or email the Lawson school office to communicate your decision.
