SMS Announcements-Friday, Dec. 8th-A Day

For this week, we will continue to focus on being kind and using kind words. Racial slurs are inappropriate and should not be used at all. Students need to think first,

What is the purpose of the words we use? Will they cause harm?

“Joking/Roasting” students can cause harm to the person even if you think it’s “just a joke.” This is not acceptable and can result in consequences.

Hyperstream Club Participation Meeting!

Wednesday, December 6th OR December 13th 2:50-3:30

Mr. Motz’s Room

At this meeting, I will see how many students are interested/available to start organizing groups based on interest.

Groups in the past have included: Coding, Gaming, Gaming PC build, Raspberry Pi, 3D printing, etc.

I am open to new ideas each year, as well.  This group is for anyone with any interest or experience in technology.

Please email if you are interested but cannot attend, and I can pass on any information to you after I organize groups.

Thanks! -Mr. Motz

The next art club will be held December 19 from 3:00 – 4:00 in the art classroom.

Next book club meeting will be December 14 from 2:50 – 3:30.

Next meeting is Wednesday, January 10 from 2:50 – 3:30 in Team Mission room 125. Make sure your ride is at Summit at 3:30.

Interested in the game but don’t know how to play? The Summit Chess Club welcomes all sixth and seventh graders! Mr. O’Brien and Mr. Meyer will teach you and have you challenging your friends in no time. Our expert student leaders can even give you strategies to dominate the board. We meet in Voyage room #226 on Tuesdays from 2:50 – 3:30 pm. NOTE: You must have a ride home after club. The school and sponsors will not provide transportation.

Even though the gardening season is over, Garden Club still meets throughout the winter!

All 6th and 7th grade students are welcome on Thursdays from 2:50 – 3:30 in Room 129 (Mission).  Students must be able to be picked up at 3:30 or get home on foot.

We will plan for next spring’s garden, will do some learning about starting plants from seed, will be (hopefully) taking a field trip (details TBD and pending administration approval), will do some sort of drive to benefit the Partnership during our off season months, and will be having fun connecting with friends!
