SMS Announcements-Tuesday, Nov. 14th-A Day

For next week’s behavior focus, we want to review recess expectations.

The following are appropriate activities and inappropriate activities:

Appropriate Activities at Recess:

Walking around the track

Having appropriate conversation with friends

Playing Basketball, Touch Football, Volleyball, Soccer or catch

Play with those who want to play with you

Inappropriate Activities

Tackle Football

Chasing students

Making any kind of threats or instigating a fight

Using inappropriate language

Calling students names

Dunking on each other

Hitting one another even as a joke.

We want to reiterate the importance of keeping our bodies to ourselves and being kind to everyone. This will decrease or prevent situations from escalating to something more serious where administrators are involved and consequences are handed out.

Thank you so much!

Even though the gardening season is over, Garden Club still meets throughout the winter!

All 6th and 7th grade students are welcome on Thursdays from 2:45-3:30 in Room 129 (Mission).  Students must be able to be picked up at 3:30 or get home on foot.

We will plan for next spring’s garden, will do some learning about starting plants from seed, will be (hopefully) taking a field trip (details TBD and pending administration approval), will do some sort of drive to benefit the Partnership during our off season months, and will be having fun connecting with friends!
